A Quick introduction

Burkes Farm Ice Cream is the innovation of Bernie & John Burke, who have been dairy farming in Tara in County Meath for the over 20 years.

We decided to add value to our milk by producing our own premium ice cream from our Jersey Cows. In September 2006 we made our first public appearance and launched our premium ice cream range at the National Ploughing Championships. From the start, feedback from consumers was very positive and this encouraged us to launch our retail range in 2007.

We also craft a range of refreshing sorbets for the food service sector.

Our Success so far…!
We have featured in John Mc Kenna’s renowned Bridgestone Irish Food Guide 2007, 2008 & 2009, and Rachael Allen gave us a ringing endorsement in the Sunday Tribune she mentioned that she ...”recently tasted divine ice cream from Burke’s Farm”...  “...and also mince pie ice cream which is unbelievably good... At the inaugural Blas na hEireann Food Awards in October 2008 at which the best Irish Food Producers were recognised, Burkes Farm Ice Cream won a Gold Award for our Apple Crumble.  Our Apple Crumble also won a Gold Award at the Great Taste Awards 2009. Strawbery won Frozen Product of the Show at SHOP EXPO 2009 and Belgian Chocolate won Bronze at the Blas na hEireann Awards 2009.
